Socially Speaking for May 2022

April, we booked into the Tramway Museum at St. Kilda. We had a tour of the facilities before the public arrived. We had an early lunch so we could ride on the trams from 12.20 pm. 20 Adults and 5 grandchildren enjoyed the day, travelling to St Kilda and back on each of the three trams available on the day.

The Day of Triumph was held at Civic Park also in April, and a great day was had by all. Many thanks to Ian Rigby and team for a successful day.

The weekender planning is going ahead.  The dates are May 28th and 29th.  We have secured visits to two classic car venues, which are both amazing.  The Murray Bridge Classic Car Club is also hosting us for dinner on the Saturday evening, so a fun weekend is planned. Socially Speaking for April 2022

March, we had a lunch run to Bethany.  Twenty-five members attended for the Chicken and salad lunch, which we purchased from Tanunda Foodland, including hot rolls to accompany the lunch. Many new faces attended the run, which was great to see the Triumph’s out and about in the Barossa.

April will also be a simple outdoor event. We have booked into the Tramway Museum at St. Kilda. We have organised a tour before the public arrive.  This will be a BYO Lunch again.  Meet at Villi’s Cafe 426 Main North Road Blair Athol at 10.00am. Please advise numbers attending.  Grandchildren welcome! Cost of $7.00 entry per person.

The Day of Triumph is being held on April 3rd at Civic Park TTG.

Day of Triumph 2022

Monday, February 28th, 2022

Day of Triumph 2022

It’s on again the TSOA annual DAY OF TRIUMPH.

Polish the chrome and get ready to be judged.

This year’s event will again be at Civic Park Modbury
SUNDAY 3rd of April

Cars need to be in place early and can’t be removed until the end of the
event at 3pm for safety reasons. Gates open around 8.30am

The rules and scoring are the same as prior years and it will be the point score
that wins you the trophy. However due to low numbers over the past years, cars
may be grouped for judging.

The car needs to support the class and score ranking it has been entered into.

I will need a lot of help again from several people on the day who have an
eye for detail, especially Concours.

Please join me and many others on the day.

Apologies: It was flagged earlier that the event would be at the rotunda at the park in Adelaide but unfortunately the council pulled out at the last minute due to ground works.

Socially Speaking – February 2022

Thursday, February 24th, 2022

The club picnic run to Gumeracha on February 13th saw 32 people attend this social event. The
picnic in the park was a huge success with people attending even from Mt Gambier! It was also an
earlier finish than the ABD!

March, we have an outdoor run with a club supplied lunch (Covid style) to again enjoy the fresh air
and keep within the Covid restrictions. This will be on March 13th (Adelaide Cup Weekend) to avoid
MSCA clash on the 20th. This run will be to Bethany Reserve. Meet at Civic Park at TTG at 10.30am.
Please advise if attending for catering numbers.

April will also be a simple outdoor event. We have booked into the Tramway Museum at St. Kilda.
We have organised a tour before the public arrive. This will be a BYO Lunch again. Meet at Villi’s
Cafe 426 Main North Road Blair Athol at 10.00am. Please advise numbers attending. Grandchildren
welcome! Cost of $7.00 entry per person.

The Day of Triumph is being held on April 3rd at Civic Park TTG.
The weekender (possibly Murray Bridge and surrounding areas) will be a one nighter, and we are
planning it for the last weekend in May (28th and 29th)

It’s a crazy world we are living in at present, but we hope you all stay safe and look forward to seeing
you on some fun outdoor runs!

December 29th – After Christmas Club run – 29 people set off on the run on a hot day, and 4 more members joined us for lunch at the Tea Tree Gully Public House.  Thanks to Kate Berlemon for setting the run, which took in grape vines, sheep, beautiful scenery and all so close to town!

Due to Covid and its restrictions, some of our events have been cancelled, but we are attempting to keep the social side of things going with outdoor events.

The All-British Day has been cancelled, so we have decided to have a picnic run, with BYO Lunch, chairs, tables and drinks to Gumeracha. This way we will be outdoors and can socially distance!

March we will also have an outdoor run with a club supplied lunch (Covid style) to again enjoy the fresh air and keep within the Covid restrictions. This will be on March 13th (Adelaide Cup Weekend) to avoid MSCA clash on the 20th.

April will also be a simple outdoor event. We have booked into the Tramway Museum at St. Kilda.

The Day of Triumph is being looked at, at present with possibly being held on April 3rd. Details to follow.

The weekender this year, will only be a one nighter, due to Covid and hopefully next year we can go back to a two nighter, and do the Riverland and the Silo’s.

It’s a crazy world we are living in at present, but we hope you all stay safe and look forward to seeing you on some fun outdoor runs!
